Budinger schedules press conference

Chase Budinger, the 6-foot-7, 190-pound small forward/shooting guard from La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, Calif., is just about ready to make a decision about his future. After narrowing his list of schools to three, Budinger has decided to hold a press conference next week to announce his college destination.
"Chase is down to Arizona, USC and UCLA," said Duncan Budinger, the father of Chase Budinger. "Chase has visited all three schools, so he is ready to make a decision about his future. We have decided to conduct a press conference on Wednesday, August 17, to let everybody know where he plans to attend."

Budinger and his family have sat down on a number of occasions to discuss each of the aforementioned programs remaining on his list. While the final decision will not be an easy one, Budinger's decision to stay on the West Coast makes the process a little easier.
"The biggest thing for Chase was the decision to stay on the West Coast," said Budinger. "From that point on, we looked at each of the schools academically and athletically. We wanted to make sure that we looked at what each of the three schools had to offer from a basketball standpoint and an academic standpoint.
"Now that we have narrowed it down to Arizona, USC and UCLA, Chase will be ready to make a decision next week," he added."
Chase Budinger Scouting Report: Extremely bouncy and athletic, Budinger excels at filling the lane in transition and either attacking the basket or spotting up behind the three-point line. Also has a nice touch from the midrange. Ball handling and passing have room for improvement. Although he is not a physical player at this point, his active feet and jumping ability make him a good defender and rebounder.
