Bryan Hopkins Re-opens His Recruiting

Bryan Hopkins, the ultra athletic 5-10, 185 pound point guard from Lincoln H.S. in Dallas, Tex., told us he is no longer committed to SMU. He had committed at 1:15 Central time on September 5 to SMU. "I am not committed anymore to SMU right now," Hopkins said. "I need to re-evaluate my recruiting process."

Hopkins told us he is only considering two schools. "I am only thinking about Texas and SMU," Hopkins said. "These are the only two schools I am considering. I hope to have an announcement soon."

Hopkins would not say when but our sources have indicated he was leaning to making that commitment to Texas. "I haven't done anything yet," Hopkins said. "I am thinking about making a decision."

Hopkins is one of the top point guards in the country. Hopkins turned in some key performances at the Nike Peach Jam Tournament, where he helped Team Texas win the title of the prestigious invitational event.
