Jordan Bruner, a forward out of Spring Valley High School in Columbia,
S.C., generated a lot of buzz early in his high school career, but a torn
meniscus at the beginning of his junior year slowed down the hype for the
four-star prospect.
He's just now getting close to being at full strength, which is fortunate given
the July recruiting period is on the horizon, but Bruner has already received a
lot of attention from college coaches. Offers are in from Clemson,
Georgia, Tulsa, UCF, Yale, Richmond and College of
Charleston with heavy interest coming from St. Louis and Tennessee.
Clemson jumped on Bruner early and have been persistent with him despite the
injury.
"I like their school and I like their program," Bruner said. "I've been in touch
with their coaches a lot. They are a good school. They are improving every year
for the most part."
Georgia is the most recent school to pull the trigger on an offer to Bruner. He
visited Athens two years ago for elite camp.
"They are also a good school. They just offered me a few days ago, so I haven't
had as much contact with them as I have with the other schools. I liked their
facilities when I was there. It was nice."
St. Louis has yet to extend an offer to the South Carolina native, but he speaks
regularly with head coach Jim Crews and feels the love from the Billikens'
staff.
"They just call and stay in touch. I don't know much about their program, but
the head coach calls and talks to me a lot. He gave me a lot of insight on how
to handle my injury and about the recovery process."
At the moment, Bruner says he doesn't have any favorites and doesn't know when
he'll commit to a school.
