Brown steadily developing

Woodrow Wilson (Dallas) High School's Anthony Randolph has recently grabbed the headlines with his commitment to LSU, but there is another star on the rise at Woodrow Wilson. 2008 power forward prospect Will Brown has the attention of a number of high-major programs and a leader in Conference USA.
Brown, the No. 91 ranked prospect in the class of 2008, is focused on UTEP, Georgia, Oregon State, Cincinnati, Baylor and Missouri. All six schools watched Brown workout this fall and have offered scholarships according to Woodrow Wilson head coach Pat Washington.

"Out of these schools I like UTEP the best," said Brown, 6-foot-8, 225-pounds. "I really like Coach Barbee. I think he is a really good coach."
Brown, who started playing competitive basketball two years ago, certainly benefited from playing alongside Randolph, but he also performed well this summer playing without Randolph.
"Will did very well without Anthony this summer, but there is no doubt that Anthony makes Will a better player," said Coach Washington. "Anthony gets a lot of defensive attention and is unselfish enough to find Will and get him the ball."
Working hard on his post moves and defense, Brown will only get better over the next two years.
"Will is such a hard worker," said Washington. "I really want to see the finished product. He is a late bloomer and the sky is the limit."
Brown averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per game during his sophomore season.
Will Brown scouting report:
With a fantastic physical build, Brown is most effective around the basket. He finishes well inside and is a shot blocker and rebounder. He also excels at running the floor. His skills away from the basket, however, need improving.
