Brown Sparks Hargrave Past Brewster

MILFORD, Del. -- Gerald Brown (right) got so frustrated on Saturday night in an embarrassing 26 point loss to the St. Thomas More School that he picked up a technical foul.
On Sunday afternoon at the War on the Shore, the 6-3, 185 pound shooting/combo guard from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., took out all of his frustrations on Brewster Academy in an action packed 90-85 victory over the Bobcats.

Brown, who is ticketed for Providence next fall, played about a complete a game as possible for the Tigers. He scored 29 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists, collected three steals and hit 10 of 11 free throws to help Hargrave protect its second half lead.
Hargrave led by as many as 14 points in the first half, highlighted by one sequence in which Brown scored seven points in a mere four seconds.
But Brewster erased a 48-39 half-time deficit and took a short-lived 61-60 lead with 9:20 to play on a three pointer from junior ace Joel Smith.
That's when Brown got busy, scoring several points (via drives, free throws, stick backs) and setting up his teammates via dribble penetration as the Tigers countered with a quick 14-4 burst to take a 74-65 lead with 6:32 to play.
More importantly, it shifted the momentum back into Hargrave's corner and ultimately, the Tigers escaped with a close victory.
So a night after losing his cool, Brown had ice water in his veins to help the Tigers freeze out the Bobcats.
