Brown one of 2018s best

The class of 2018 hasn't been ranked just yet, but when Rivals.com unveils a first ranking of the class after the summer it is a safe bet that power forward Jordan Brown is going to be in the mix.
A 6-foot-10 power forward at Roseville (Calif.) Woodcreek, Brown had a wildly successful freshman season. He averaged almost 23 points and 10 rebounds per game and led his team on a deep run through the state playoffs. However, he isn't that well known yet because he stayed off the grassroots circuit for most of the spring to focus on a bigger goal.

"My freshman season went pretty well," Brown told Rivals.com. "My team went all the way to North Cal state finals where we lost to the team that ended up winning the state title, San Ramon Valley.
"In the spring I didn't get a chance to play that much because I was concerned with preparing myself for USA Basketball. The one tournament I did play I felt like I did really well."
The decision to prep for USA Basketball paid off. During the recent 16U trials Brown was easy to identify as one of the top players in attendance. He made the final team that will travel to Argentina next week and did so because of his skill, athleticism and ability to play on both ends of the floor.
"I'm kind of like a mix between a LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Garnett type," said Brown. "I can face the basket but my strength is posting up and rebounding. I like to set up on the inside first and then I can take my man out and hit from the perimeter."
In an era where many college programs seem willing to pass out scholarship offers as easily as they would a tic tac to a friend who needs to freshen their breath, Brown surprisingly only has one offer. He picked up his first offer from Nevada a few weeks ago and mentioned California, Wake Forest and Virginia as programs that have also expressed some early interest.
Given that he's just finishing up his freshman year, Brown isn't worried about who has or hasn't offered at this point and is more concerned about school and building his game.
"It is still really early and I'm not thinking about that stuff with recruiting," said Brown. "I've been focused on my game and just trying to get better."
