Brooks sets first official visit

The next couple of weeks are going to be somewhat hectic for Rydell Brooks. The 6-foot-1, 160-pound combo guard from Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio, is set to take an official visit this weekend and, as it stands right now, hopes to take one additional visit before making a final decision about his future.
"Rydell has already taken an unofficial visit to Akron," said Buchtel head coach Steve White. "He is planning to take an official visit to Niagara this weekend and will likely take another official visit to Long Beach St., before he makes any decision.

"Rydell has scholarship offers from Akron and Niagara," he added. "He is still waiting to receive a scholarship offer from Long Beach St. "Oh yes, Rydell will definitely make a decision once he returns from his final two visits. Unless something happens, Rydell will decide after his final two visits."
During his senior campaign at Buchtel, Brooks was simply sensation for most of the year. The team did not advance as far as they had originally hoped, but Brooks and his teammates still had an outstanding year.
"Rydell played very well for us this year," said White. "He averaged 27-points per game and was the two time player of the year in our league. As a team, we were 23-1 and lost in the district finals.
"It was a tough way to end the year, but we had a great season," he added. "Rydell was definitely a key to our success and he really had a fine year."
