Nick Brooks, a versatile 6-5, 205 pound small forward from Robinson H.S. in Robinson, Ill., committed to Butler, according to Nick's family.
Nick is one of the better rising senior prospects on Bob Pryor's Bloomington Red program this spring. Although he lacks athletic explosiveness, Brooks is kind of a jack of all trades for Red. He in equally comfortable with both his back to the basket as well as facing up, yet he plays the game in a deliberate manner that sometimes makes it look like he's not playing at full tilt.
Brooks is a good finesse finisher with range out to three point land on his jumper. He said his top two schools were Illinois and Butler, but Ball State and Iowa had also taken a look at the Lincoln Land product..
Brooks had taken unofficial trips to Butler, Illinois and Iowa. Brooks averaged 22 points, six rebounds and four assists per game this past season at Robinson.
