Broghammer high on Big East school
When Mike Broghammer looks back on the summer period, the 6-foot-8, 215-pound power forward from Hopkins High School in Minnesota knows exactly when his recruitment took an upswing.

The three-star forward shined at the Nike Peach Jam with the Howard Pulley AAU team and landed a pair of offers that he is strongly considering going into his senior year.
"It was definitely a good summer. I came to play for most of it," Broghammer said. "This year, I think it was just a matter of me getting able to play more. Last year, I played behind Jared Berggren so I didn't see a llot of playing time. This year, I was one of the leaders on the team and I had to step up because of that.
"I thought I personally did great [at the Peach Jam]. I just got into the flow of the game and didn't worry about anything else but just playing."
Broghammer picked up offers from Notre Dame and Penn State after the Peach Jam and now he has plans to visit both schools. Illinois State is also very much in the mix. He says the trio round out his final three.
"That's pretty much my three that I have it down to," he said. "I've been to Illinois State before but never been to Penn State. I'll most likely visit them sometime mid September."
A trip to Notre Dame the first week of September is in concrete, he says, and the Irish look strong going into the visits.
"I like Notre Dame a lot. I think it is a great opportunity. The academic and alumni standpoint is huge. The basketball team is great. It's just an all-around great opportunity for after my life in college basketball. I can go out into the job world and be good to go," he said. "There is a chance of [me committing after the visit."
