Brogdon leads Ga. Stars at Wallace Prather
ATLANTA - The Georgia Stars took home the 17-Under championship of the Wallace Prather Memorial Event, and leading the way was shooting guard Malcolm Brogdon.

Sensational throughout the event, Brogdon showed why his recruitment will blow up in July with his play in the semifinals against a talented Memphis Magic squad. He pumped in a game-high 25 points on a variety of shots while snagging numerous defensive rebounds.
After watching Brogdon play this spring, it is almost mind boggling that he doesn't even have one high major offer. That will drastically change when coaches see him in July. Brogdon did note that Alabama and Clemson have recently picked up their recruiting efforts.
Kedren Johnson (2011 Georgia Stars)- Johnson has certainly found his niche as a playmaker with the Georgia Stars. Much of the offense runs through him at the point guard, and he produced points himself as well as with his high level passing. Strength is his friend and he also has a deceptively quick burst to go with his crafty handle. In the Georgia Stars' overtime win in the quarterfinals, Johnson made several clutch plays down the stretch and ended up with 17 points. In fact, he has a lot of Deron Williams to his game.
The two questions about his game are his outside shot and his ability to defend. Johnson looked solid in both of those areas during the event.
Nino Johnson (2011 Memphis Magic)- Johnson is a high level athlete and physical specimen. He has limited shooting range, but he can score with his back to the basket and finish with either hand. His best attribute is his rebounding, and he is not afraid to block a shot either.
He has offers from Ole Miss, Auburn and Missouri State and is also being recruited by Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia Tech.
Kentavious Caldwell (2011 Georgia Blazers)- A lethal shooter, Caldwell has grown to 6-foot-6 and has added some physical strength. That is bad news for defenders. Caldwell put up huge scoring numbers throughout the event. He nailed deep jumpers over smaller defenders and attacked the basket with authority.
Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and Florida State are the four schools most prominent in his recruitment at the moment.
Demetrius Henry (2012 Team Breakdown)- A 6-foot-8 post player, Henry is one of three impressive 2012 prospects playing 17-Under for Team Breakdown. Henry is a mobile big man who has some game in the paint.
Alabama, Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Old Dominion are showing serious interest.
Daquan Walker and Marcus May (2012 Team Breakdown)- Walker, a 6-foot scoring point guard, stood out in Team Breakdown's close loss to the Memphis Magic in the quarterfinals. He was the primary ball handler and top scoring threat for Team Breakdown.
Desmond Ringer (2013 Atlanta Celtics 15-Under)- At 6-foot-9, 230-pounds, Ringer certainly does not look like a freshman, nor does he play like a freshman. He has impressive footwork in the paint and plays with composure with the ball in his hands.
Arkansas, Oregon State and Mercer checked on him in April.
Jordan Neff (2013 Georgia Stars 15-Under)- A strong athlete at 6-foot-6, Neff has the makings of a physical, yet skilled four man.
Brandon Watson (2013 Georgia Stars 15-Under)- A 6-foot-8 low post player, Watson has the length and athleticism that will bring a high number of schools into his recruitment.
More Recruiting Notes
Damien Wilson, who is an athletic wing in the 2012 class, has a Tennessee offer and the Volunteers are his favorite. Georgia Tech has also offered, and Memphis, Georgia, Baylor and Texas are on his list.
Jarnell Stokes is being recruited the hardest by Ole Miss, Memphis and Tennessee. He also likes Kansas and West Virginia but is not being recruited by either school.
Shelby Moats put up 25 points and 10 rebounds in Minnesota Pump N Run's 79-71 loss in the championship game. The 2011 post player has an Utah offer and is hearing from Stanford and Princeton as well.
Jonah Travis, a 6-foot-6 combo forward for Minnesota Pump N Run, has offers from Northern Illinois, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wafford and Toledo.
