Brockman Picks Up Offer

Jon Brockman, the No. 61 player in the Rivals75 for the class of 2005, has picked up an offer from hometown school Washington. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward from Snohomish High School in Seattle has five other schools on his school list along with Washington.
“I am interested in Arizona, UCLA, Washington, Gonzaga, Kansas, and Purdue,” said Brockman. “Washington is the only school that has offered me, but I’m still wide open. Right now I’m just concentrating on getting better.”

Washington clearly has some advantages in recruiting Brockman beyond the fact that they are the first school to have offered him a scholarship.
“I haven’t talked to any coaches yet except for Washington,” said Brockman. “My sister plays for Washington, and my high school coach’s brother is an assistant at Washington.”
Brockman, who is averaging 24 points and 14 rebounds for his 13-6 team, gave RivalsHoops.com a little insight into what he is looking for in a college.
“I want to go to a big school with a good basketball tradition,” he said. “I love to run up and down the floor, and I wouldn’t mind going to a run and gun team. I also love to play defense. I think I play tough defense.”
