Brian Towey Scouts Kirk Bunn

Bishop Loughlin junior swingman Kirk Bunn is a
versatile wing who is already attracting widespread

interest.
"I'm hearing a lot from the schools in the Big
East," said Bunn. "But I don't really have a list or
anything like that yet."
The 6-6, 205-pound Bunn, who is scoring at a 14 points
per game clip for coach Ted Gustus, was originally a
point guard before sprouting up seven inches the
summer before his freshman year of high school. Bunn
has retained those skills at 6'5'', boasting a snappy
handle and explosive first step. He is very quick off
the dribble.
Bunn, a native of Canarsie, in Brooklyn, transferred
into Loughlin from Archbishop Molloy High School and
reshirted last season per the CHSAA transfer rules.
The year on the sidelines enabled Bunn to boost his
academic standing, raising his scholastic average to
85. Bunn reports that his grades have slipped a bit
this year down to 75, as he's had to juggle his school
work and athletic obligations, but Kirk is confident
he will lift his marks again before the school year is
out. He will take the SAT for the first time in March.
Bunn didn't participate in the AAU circuit this past
summer, instead opting for a Pro-Am League in New
Jersey, battling the likes of Stephon Marbury and
Derrick Coleman.
