Brian Leach Sparks St. Doms To Win

OYSTER BAY, NEW YORK -- When trying to stop the offense of St. Dominic, you must make sure St. John's bound point forward, Tim Doyle is under control. For the most part, Manhattan Center did so. But what Manhattan Center didn't count on was Brian Leach, a junior guard, draining three three-pointers.
Leach's long-range display helped propel St. Dominic past Manhattan Center, 83-44. Leach finished with 19 points. Doyle ended the game, playing sparingly in the second half, with seven points, five assists, and nine rebounds.

St. Dominic led 17-10 after the first quarter, 37-20 at the half, and 57-27 after the third quarter. Dwayne Whitfield added 10 for the winners while his teammates Alex Patsos (10 points), Rob Rottkamp (15 points), Brian Houlihan (13 points) and Leigh Moglia (nine points) all made contributions.
This was the fourth game yesterday played on the homecourt of St. Dominic for the National Pro-AM. It is the fifth year the event has been held at St. Dominic.
