Brewster Academy shooter high on three

Talk to Kyle Wright, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound shooting guard from Hartford, Conn., and you'd think the class of 2006 prospect is already in college. Now at Brewster Academy in N.H., Wright feels like he's getting the college life in hoops and education.
Wright is one of the few underclassmen for head coach Jason Smith at the loaded Brewster Academy. Playing against a number of Division I signees, Wright has learned what it takes to play and live like a top prospect.

"There are different people here from different areas all across the country. Now I have two good friends from Las Vegas in Nate (Schulte) and Harvey (Perry). We all come from different social groups. It's been really cool," Wright said. "The school work is a lot of work but you have to do it. And basketball, well, we're doing pretty good so that helps a lot."
Wright has been a key factor in Brewster's 7-2 start. According to the junior, he's only missed two three pointers all season. His deep shot is his motis operandi, he says. "I've never been afraid to shot my shot."
"I'm coming from a school where the competition wasn't that great and I'd go through the motions without any kind of motivation," Wright said. "Here I'm having to bust my butt and the guys here are motivating me to push myself at the same time. These are good players here. A lot of DI schools are looking at me."
Iowa, Providence and Purdue have started to show a significant amount of interest, Wright said. Florida has been in touch with his AAU coach, too. But the Hawkeyes, Friars and Boilermakers are tops with Wright.
"Those are the three I'm liking right now," he admitted. "I want a place with good academics and place where I can take pride in being a basketball player but also a student. I don't want to known as just one or the other. It's a complete package."
