Brewer, Dansby Go for 85 Points

Florida signee Corey Brewer pumped in 50 points in his opening night game, while Murray St. signee Shane Dansby tried to match him with 35 points of his own.

The 6-foot-7, 174-pound Brewer scored two thirds of Portland (Tenn.) High School’s points, shooting 21 of 38 from the field, in their 75 to 61 victory over Harpeth High School from Kingston Springs, Tenn. Dansby, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard, shot 15 of 24 from the field.

“Both players played great and shot the ball outstanding,” said Harpeth coach Jamie Wilson. “From a fan’s perspective it was a great game. Both players had four or five dunks each and guarded each other most of the game. Shane just needs to work on keeping bigger players out of scoring position. Corey shot the ball better than I have ever seen him shoot it, and he looks like he has grown two inches since last year.”
