long-range, has seen interest from a number of low
Division I programs, as well as hearing from a member
of the Big East, of late.
The 6'3'' 185 lb Wilson recently heard from Seton
Hall, and a member of Louis Orr's staff will be on
hand Saturday to evaluate Wilson as Lutheran takes on
Upper Room. Other schools that have expressed interest
include Wagner, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Hartford, and
Northeastern. Wagner has offered. Wilson
was supposed to take an official visit to
Maryland-Eastern Shore recently, but because of a
conflict with a game, was unable to. He expects to
reschedule that visit.
Wilson, who is averaging 16.5 points and 11 rebounds
for coach Ronn Hall, is active around the hoop, able
to corral caroms with a solid frame and good strength,
and is capable of sliding out to the perimeter and
knocking down the long-range jumper. His shooting
acumen and strength suggest that Wilson might be able
to make the transition to the two and three slots and
the college level.
Wilson, who attended the Adidas ABCD camp this
summer and played with Riverside Church, is in good
shape academically, carrying an 81 average. He has
scored 930 on the SAT, and plans on taking the test
again.
Wilson's father, Benjamin Wilson, was a prep star at
Simeon High School in Chicago in the mid-eighties. One
of the top high school prospects in the country,
Benjamin Wilson was tradgically killed during his
senior year.
