Brandon Sims Is Out For Year

One of the better sophomore snipers in the Jayhawk Conference, 6-5 shooting guard/swingman Brandon Sims of Johnson County C.C. in Overland Park, Kan., is out for the season with a back injury.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Johnson County Head Coach Mike Jeffers at this past weekend's Jayhawk Shootout, and he told us that Sims had back surgery this year for herniated discs.

Sims had a terrific freshman year for the Cavaliers, earning MVP honors at the NJCAA Division II Tournament in Danville, Ill., as Johnson County won the title.
When JUCO Junction saw Sims last year at the Jayhawk Shootout, he showed the ability to consistently knock down jumpers off the dribble. He is a deadly mid-range shooter and a bit more streaky from beyond the three point arc.
Jeffers said he expects Sims to return to Johnson County next year for his sophomore season. Sims was getting mid-high Division I looks this past summer, but his injury has curtailed his recruitment for the time being.
