Brandon Brooks, a 6-0, 180 pound point guard from Portland, Ore., plans on signing this spring with Southern California.
Brooks last played at Indian Hills during the 2000-2001 basketball season, and had been sitting out the 2001-2002 season at the Iowa junior college [due to injury] before getting dismissed from the school by Head Coach Lorenzo Watkins.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com confirmed with Brooks' grandmother, Mae, that Brandon will indeed sign with the Trojans this spring.
"From what I understand, that's his decision," she said.
Back in November, Brooks had orally committed to USC but never signed. Two months later, he reportedly changed his mind and committed to Iowa State.
But after leaving Indian Hills, word leaked out that he had once again pledged to Southern Cal.
Apparently, the Trojans have finally won the seesaw battle, but nothing will be official until the letter of intent is submitted.
In order to enroll at USC in the fall, Brooks must graduate from junior college. Mae Brooks said that Brandon is currently enrolled at Compton C.C. in California finishing up the work toward his associates degree.
We'll keep you abreast of the situation in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
