Branch is wide-open

Kevin Branch, the 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Reserve Christia High School in LaPlace, La., is a wanted man. The three-star prospect is currently wide-open at this time, but six high-major programs are making a strong push for the talented shooting guard. Branch is planning to make a decision about his future before his senior year begins.
"Kevin is going to pick a school before his senior year of basketball begins," said Kevin Branch, Sr. "Texas A&M, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Baylor and Tulane are the schools my son is looking at. Those are the schools that are recruiting him the hardest. Kevin is going to take some unofficial visits this summer and will probably take three official visits in the fall.

"Kevin has already been to Tulane," he added. "He is planning to visit Baylor, Oklahoma and Illinois. He is wide-open right now, but those are the schools that are recruiting my son the hardest."
Branch would like to pick a school before his season begins, which would allow him to focus on his final year at Reserve Christian. If everything goes as planned, he will do just that.
However, until the time comes for Branch to decide, he is going to enjoy the spring and summer circuit. After playing with a team from California at the beginning of spring, Branch recently made a switch. According to his father, it was for the best.
"Kevin will be playing with the Louisiana Stars," he said. "He was at the Kingwood Classic in Houston, but he was playing with a different team. I decided to take him off that team and he will be playing with the Louisiana Stars.
"I don't know if Kevin will be attending any individual camps this summer," he added. "I don't think that is something that he really wants to do. I think that Kevin would rather play with his teammates instead of attending one of the individual camps."
