Boynton makes it official for Gators

As expected, top ten prospect Kenny Boynton of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage School made it official for Florida.
"It's been a long process and I've been blessed by God to be recruited by some of the best coaches in America," Boynton said in a televised broadcast of his announcement. "But I can't go to all the schools, and I have to choose one. I'm going to be a Florida Gator."

Boynton had officially visited USC and Georgia Tech along with Florida before cancelling official visits to Duke and Texas. He spoke highly of his visit to Florida while also noting that the Gators had the upper hand all along because they were the home state program.
"On the Florida visit I felt very comfortable," he said. "Coach Donovan and I have a great relationship, and the players treated me like family. Next year were going to have a big season and get to the final four."
Boynton, who is the No. 7 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, had an exceptional travel season where he displayed an indomitable will to win.
Kenny Boynton scouting report:
Speedy with the ball, Boynton is a scoring machine. With an extremely quick pull up jumper from deep range and a floater in the lane, he can get his shot off at will. Boynton also shoots the ball coming off screens. Physically strong and quick laterally as well, he is also a tough defender. At 6-foot-2, Boynton has the ball handling skills for the point guard position but is in the process of becoming more of a distributor of the basketball."
