Bowers Makes Decision

Artie Bowers, a high scoring 6-3 off guard from St. Benedict's H.S. in Newark, N.J., gave a verbal commitment to Steve Lappas and the Massachusetts program last night, according to a source close to Bowers. This is a solid pickup for the Minutemen. Bowers had a very good summer and proved he is one of the top 100 players in the country.
Bowers also had interest from George Washington, Richmond, Penn State, Florida State, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Rutgers, DePaul, East Carolina, and Marquette. Wake Forest had been heavily in the mix with Bowers the Demon Deacons snapped up instate off guard prospect Jeremy Ingram.
Bowers is one of the better pure scorers in the Class of 2003. We will have more on this commitment later today on this site.
