Bowers Has Top Four

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA -- Will Bowers, a 6-10, 225 pound center from Archbishop Spalding HS in Severn, MD, looked impressive at the NBA Players Association High School Camp at VCU's Siegel Center.
"I really benefited from the individual instruction from Mr. (Tim) McCormick and Mr. (George) Johnson," Bowers said.

Bowers told Russ Blake at last month's Tournament of Champions that he and Spalding Coach Mike Glick had narrowed his list to nine schools: Maryland, Notre Dame, St. Joseph's, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Providence and Stanford.
"There's one more team on my list," he said. "Connecticut is now recruiting me very hard."
Of these schools, Will said that the leaders are Ohio State, Pitt, Maryland and Notre Dame. "Connecticut could be in there too," he added, "but they're not since they got involved later."
Bowers continues to show that his willingness to work hard is paying off. He looked very strong inside and made some nice moves to get layups. He has good perimeter shooting form but it isn't that accurate. Considering his work ethic, wouldn't be surprised to see that improve. There has been clear improvement in his overall game from the beginning of his junior season 'til now.
"I'll be taking some unofficials in August with my family, Coach Glick and maybe one of more of our assistant coaches," he said. Bowers said he'd like to make a decision by the beginning of his senior season.
A good student, Bowers has a 3.4 GPA and scored 1310 on the SAT. "I am looking for something in business finance and economics in college but that's not set in stone yet and I could change my mind any time," he said.
Bowers averaged 15.5 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two assists as a junior last season and was named to the Baltimore Sun's All-Metro second team.
He also plays with the Baltimore Select AAU program. He'll be at this week's BET DC Pro-AM, the adidas ABCD camp in New Jersey, adidas Three-Stripes at Hofstra and adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
