Bowers Has Eight Offers

Artie Bowers, a high scoring 6-3 off guard from St. Benedict's H.S. in Newark, N.J., said that he has offers on the table this summer from eight high major college basketball programs.
Bowers, who is here at the adidas Big Time Tournament with the Tim Thomas Playaz Black program, told Rivalshoops.com that the offers have come from UMass, Penn State, N.C. State, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Seton Hall and East Carolina.

It's unclear at this stage whether or not Notre Dame is still in the hunt for Bowers after they picked up Illinois shooting guard Colin Falls late last week.
Wake Forest had been heavily in the mix with Bowers until last week when the Demon Deacons snapped up instate off guard prospect Jeremy Ingram.
"The next thing for me to do will be to decide on what five visits I am going to take in the fall," Bowers said. "I plan on making a fall decision."
When asked to name a leader or leaders, Bowers deferred, but he credited Rutgers, Penn State and UMass for the aggressive efforts in recruiting him this spring and summer.
Bowers is one of the better pure scorers in the Class of 2003. He is a major factor in why the Playaz Black team is still alive here at the Big Time Tournament as Thursday playoff action is about to get underway.
We'll keep you posted on Bowers' recruitment in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
