Utah transfer Both Gach has found his new home.

Though he is currently testing NBA Draft waters, the 6-foot-7 wing is expected to stay in college and will return to his home state to play for Richard Pitino and Minnesota Gach confirmed to Rivals.com on Monday afternoon.

A four-star prospect, Gach saw his stock soar late in his high school career after leaving his home state of Minnesota for Compass Prep in Phoenix.

Gach’s father has fought Covid 19 and he relayed to Rivals.com that the opportunity to go home and play in front of his family and be closer to help them played a major role in his decision.

Long and athletic, Gach is emerging as a ball handling wing who can make plays for others as well as himself at the rim. During his sophomore season at Utah he averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in just over 30 minutes per game.

If Gach, who will have two years of eligibility, can add consistent jump shooting to his repertoire he has a chance to be a significant piece for the Gophers. Just like seven-foot transfer Liam Robbins from Drake, Gach is expected to apply for a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately in the 2020-21 season.

The Gophers recruiting class also features grad transfer Brandon Johnson from Western Michigan along with Rivals150 prospects Jamal Mashburn Jr. and Martice Mitchell. International guard David Mutaf rounds out the 2020 haul.
