Boone Impresses At Prep Event

Connecticut fans will be happy to know that Josh Boone, a talented 6-8, 205-pound forward from West Nottingham Academy in Maryland, is going to fit in well with Jim Calhoun's program. Boone signed a letter of intent last week during the November signing period. Boone is long and lanky but don't be deceived by the way his frame looks -- he is one tough player.
Boone's team was beaten up pretty good but Josh held his own against a very talented Worcester Academy program. Boone scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked eight shots. He played hard on both ends.

Connecticut, like many programs involved with Josh during his recruiting process, fell in love with his play last July in Orlando at the National AAU event. Boone has since improved his skills since then. But it's his hard work and intensity that were impressive this past weekend.
And for the above reasons, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas, Virginia, and Rutgers tried to recruit Boone very hard. Only one program can be successful in the recruiting process and Calhoun and his assistants were the winners. are longshots right now in the process.
We will have more on Boone later today at sportingnews.com.
