Boone Has 6 Major Offers

Josh Boone, a developing 6-8, 215 pound power forward from Mt. Airy, Md., has six major offers on the table. Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas, Rutgers, St. Joe's, and Virginia have offered a scholarship.
Boone also told us he is considering Maryland, Stanford, and Clemson. Boone previously took two visits. Boone first visited the campus of Connecticut. "The trip was real good," Boone said. "I really liked the campus and the staff at UConn."

Boone said he had a nice look at all of the advantages of going to Connecticut. "They're also building a new facility that looks pretty nice," Boone said.
Boone played last year at South Carroll H.S. in Sykesville, Md., and he has enrolled at West Nottingham Acad. in Coloura, Md., for a prep year.
Boone also took a trip to Virginia. And Boone told us previously he also had a good time meeting the coaches and taking a tour around the beautiful Charlottesville campus.
Boone is quick from end to end and very light on his feet. He challenges shots effectively on the defensive end, and has probably packed on 15-20 pounds since the last time we saw him during the 2001-2002 campaign. Last season at South Carroll, Boone averaged 21 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks per contest. An excellent student, Boone has a 3.5 GPA and scored a 1200 on the SAT.
He is attending prep school primarily for an extra year of physical maturity, as he certainly does not need it from an academic standpoint.
