Boo Williams wins the Peach Jam

It did not come easy for Boo Williams, but in the last minute of the game they broke away from the SYF Players for a 56-51 victory. Scottie Reynolds provided the scoring punch from the perimeter, while Vernon Macklin led the way on the inside, recording a double-double.
Reynolds finished with a game high 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Most of his points came on hard charging drives for right handed lay-ups. Macklin scored 11 points and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds. His points came off a couple strong right hand drives from the high post and offensive put backs.

2007 prospect Chris Wright had the ball in his hands quite a bit for isolation plays and scored 11 points off drives down the middle of the lane. Duke Crews played a solid game, recording 8 points and 7 rebounds. Eric Hayes finished with 7 points.
The back and forth game was knotted at 49-49 with a minute left in the game and the ball in Hayes' hands on the right wing. He drove the ball hard to the middle with his left hand and found Macklin on the baseline. After being fouled on the shot, Macklin hit the first free throw, and then Crews tipped in the miss on the second free throw for a back breaking three point play.
On the ensuing possession, Chris Wright took a charge on a driving E'twaun Moore. SYF then almost forced a turnover, but Reynolds dove on the floor for the loose ball around half court and had the poise to find Macklin under the basket for an easy dunk, essentially sealing the victory with less than 30 seconds left in the game.
Tyrone Appleton led SYF in scoring with 12 points. Coming off the bench, guard Greg Hill scored 11 points, and Scott Martin had 7 points and 6 rebounds.
Jamil Tucker had a disappointing game with 4 point and 4 rebounds. Robbie Hummel went scoreless but did register 6 rebounds and did an admiral job guarding Macklin.
