Bohannon schedules first official visit

While Jason Bohannon is still in the early stages of his recruitment, it appears that a school has emerged as the team to beat for his services. Bohannon, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa., has scheduled an official visit to Stanford during the weekend of January 29. Bohannon intends to take all five official visits before making a decision, but there is no doubt that Stanford will be tough to beat.
"I am taking an official visit to Stanford during the weekend of January 29," Bohannon said. "The coaching staff has done an outstanding job recruiting me, so I am definitely looking forward to the visit. I don't know if I would call Stanford my leader, but they are right at the top of my list. I am very high on the school."

It should come as no surprise that Stanford isn't the only school showing a high amount of interest in Bohannon. The No. 100 ranked player in the class of 2006 is receiving a great deal of interest from as many as 10 high major basketball programs. Several head coaches' have already stopped by the gym within the last month to get a better look at Bohannon.
"Quite a few coaches' have already been by to watch me practice or play," Bohannon said. "Coaches' from Stanford, Wisconsin and Iowa have been down to watch me several times. My high school coach told me that coaches' from Illinois and NC State are planning to come watch me play. I also know that several other coaches' have talked about making the trip down.
"My main focus right now is my junior season of basketball," he added. "I do know that Stanford is a school that I really like, but I do plan to take all five official visits before making any decisions. I have decided to take my time with this process, and will not rush any decision. Once I return from my visit to Stanford, and once my junior season is over, I will start to think about the other four visits."
