Bobby Santiago Decides

Cerebral combo guard Bobby Santiago, a 6-1, 170-pound senior from All Hallows High School in the Bronx, New York, has committed to Stony Brook, according to our sources.
Santiago attracted interest from Hofstra, George Mason, and St. Peter's early, but saw his stock slip a bit with a subpar summer. Santiago impressed RivalsHoops.com with his heady play in the CHSAA playoffs as Bobby played a pivotal role in All Hallows berth in the CHSAA finals, before falling to nationally-ranked Rice.

Stony Brook coach Nick Macarchuk was on hand for All Hallows quarterfinal round win over Bishop Loughlin at Iona College.
Santiago averaged nine points this past season playing alongside Iona signees Marvin McCullough and Kiril Wachsmann, as well as Division I target Ricky Soliver, who has attracted the interest of Iona, Fairfield, and Hofstra. Santiago is a fundamentally sound player who can play either guard spot. He possesses a high basketball IQ, and makes few mistakes. He has good body control and is a reliable shot from the perimeter.
Santiago is a quality pick-up for Nick Macarchuk's staff, an intelligent player who has been battle-tested in one of the top leagues in the country. Bobby will need to get stronger to compete at the Division I level, but we like his court savvy and high basketball IQ. Bobby is a low-maintenance kid who will be a nice addition from a character standpoint as well.
