Bloom Still Waiting For First Offer

Corey Bloom, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, La., has seen a steady increase when it comes to the number of schools involved in his recruitment, but he has yet to receive any scholarship offers as of yet. While Bloom was hoping to have more options during this stage of his recruitment, he realizes that the July evaluation period is the best time to make a name for himself.
“I would say that things are going pretty good right now,” Bloom said. “I am just taking my time with the entire process. So many schools are interested in me right now, but Houston, Colorado State, Georgia Tech, Connecticut, Vermont, Oklahoma and Cincinnati are the schools that I really like.

“I don’t have any favorites and I haven’t put together a top five list just yet, but I really like those seven schools,” he added. “None of the schools involved in my recruitment have offered scholarships yet, but I think that will change towards the end of July.”
Despite the fact that Bloom has yet to receive any scholarship offers, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard has enjoyed the recruiting process. As it stands right now, his focus is playing his best basketball throughout the July evaluation period. Once the summer ends, Bloom will sit down with his family and begin to schedule some official visits.
“I still have two major events left. I will be in Las Vegas and Florida towards the end of the month,” Bloom said. “I plan to be at my best when all of the coaches are around. I believe that a lot of the schools on my list will start to offer me scholarships after they see me play.
“As far as my official visits go, I plan to take all five visits right now,” he added. “If I am ready to make a decision after one or two visits, I will do that. Connecticut and Georgia Tech are the schools I would like to visit for sure. I haven’t thought about the other three visits, but I am set on visiting Connecticut and Georgia Tech.”
