Bloom Preparing For First Official Visit

For Corey Bloom, the recruiting process just isn’t moving fast enough. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, La., was hoping to be further along in the process at this stage of the game. As it stands right now, Bloom is in the process of setting up several official visits and has already conducted one in-home visit.
“Things are moving along pretty slow right now,” Bloom said. “Air Force came to my house for an in-home visit, and Texas Southern is planning to do the same. I have also scheduled an official visit to Texas Southern during the weekend of October 29. Texas A&M invited me down for an unofficial visit and I really enjoyed that visit.”

While Bloom openly admits that he would like to be further along in the process, the Louisiana native made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t intend to rush this decision. Bloom plans to take all five official visits if needed, and will not make any decisions about his future until he is completely ready to do so.
“There is no doubt that I would love to take all five official visits,” Bloom said. “Air Force, Texas A&M, Tulane, Ole Miss and Southern Miss are some of the schools showing an interest in me, so there is a possibility that I will visit some of those schools. Even if I fall in love after just one visit, I really believe it would be best to take all five visits. I don’t want to rush any decisions about what school to attend.
“I realize how big this decision is, so I want to make sure that I acquire as much information about each school as I possibly can,” he added. “Once I start taking some visits, and once coaches’ start coming to my house, I will have a better feel for each program and how interested they are in me.”
