Blalocks List Shrinks By One

A ripple effect from the Andrew Lavender commitment hit Will Blalock (below right), an energetic 5-11, 165 pound scoring point guard from Roxbury, Mass. Blalock has now heard from the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma has ended its recruitment since they now have verbals from guards Lavender and Lawrence McKenzie.

Iowa State is taking an in school visit today with Blalock, who has many high major schools recruiting him hard. Providence has already taken a school visit with Blalock. Alabama is expected to be in soon to speak to Will directly as is Pittsburgh.
Blalock, who will be transferring to Notre Dame Prep for the 2002-2003 school year, put up big numbers last winter at East Boston H.S., averaging 20 points, seven assists and three steals per contest. Blalock is a very aggressive player who loves to dart into the lane and force chaos for the defense. He is a great athlete too and seems to always finish his drives to the basket.
Blalock previously told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that UConn, Memphis and Iona had offered him scholarships. He also mentioned interest in East Carolina, Florida State, Arizona, UCLA, Cincinnati and DePaul.
