Blalock Recovers

It was just the day before when both Will Blalock (right) and Gary Ervin combined for a uncommon seven points against Global Tech. Blalock and Ervin bounced back the next day against Our Savior New American. Ervin scored 21 points (see other story on RivalsHoops.com) while Blalock had 13 points and added six assists.
Ervin is headed to Mississippi State while Blalock signed with Iowa State. Blalock and Ervin had numerous steals in the Notre Dame Academy fullcourt press this past weekend against host Our Savior. "He has good hands," said head coach Bill Barton. "He works hard. There was a big difference from what Will and Gary did against Global Tech to what they did against Our Savior."

Blalock, a 5-11, 165 pound backcourt player, has achieved a qualifying SAT score. He is also making strides as a player too and Iowa State fans should be excited.
The Roxbury, Mass. native just needs to maintain his current academic performance in order to be eligible as a freshman at Iowa State. Blalock signed with the Big 12 school in November after considering other programs such as Pittsburgh, DePaul, Ohio State, George Washington and Alabama.
Blalock, who previously attended East Boston High School, is one of the top players in the 2003 class because of his defensive and offensive skills. He seems to fit in well at Notre Dame Prep because Will has the energy to play in a high transitional offense.
