Blalock Has 3 Major Offers

Will Blalock, an energetic 5-11, 165 pound scoring point guard from Roxbury, Mass., will be transferring to Notre Dame Prep for the 2002-2003 school year.
Blalock put up big numbers last winter at East Boston H.S., averaging 20 points, seven assists and three steals per contest. He certainly built on that reputation this week at the Peach Jam, where he guided Leo Papile's BABC program to a 2-3 ledger.

Not your classic bring it up the court floor general, Blalock likes to force the action via his slick dribble moves and penetration. Thanks to his athleticism and constant motor, Blalock is often successful in finishing his drives to the basket, and his penetration often results in opportunities for his teammates.
Blalock told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that UConn, Memphis and Iona have offered him scholarships. He is also considering Florida State, Arizona, UCLA, Cincinnati and DePaul.
Of the above programs, Blalock has only had a chance to unofficially visit UConn and Iona.
The primary reason for Blalock's transfer to Notre Dame will be to bolster his academic ledger. He told Rivalshoops that he carries a 2.4 GPA and will take the SAT in the fall for the first time.
In the first part of the July evaluation period, Blalock attended the Nike All-American Camp and Peach Jam. In the second stretch that kicks off Monday the 22nd, Blalock will attend the AAU Super Showcase and AAU Nationals with BABC.
Mike Sullivan of Rivalshoops will be on hand for both of those events, and he will keep you abreast of Blalock's efforts there, so stay tuned!
