Blair Opens Some Eyes

Larry Blair, a 6-0, 167 pound shooting guard from Camden Military Academy in Camden, S.C., opened some eyes with his fine play this summer. Blair especially looked sharp at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Tournament of Champions.
Blair ranked as the top scorer in the tournament, netting 33 points per game in the four noted contests for the Charlotte Nets, which succumbed to Baltimore Select in the semifinals of the 17 and under Select division.

While he possesses a point guard's size, Blair does not handle the ball well enough to play at the one slot. But what he can do, as he consistently displayed all last weekend, is score in a variety of ways. He has a smooth three point stroke from the perimeter, and also showed a knack for hitting little pull up runners in the lane and getting to the free throw line.
A relative unknown going into the TOC, Blair transferred into Camden Military Academy after spending his first few years at Vance H.S. in Charlotte, N.C.
Blair told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he has seen interest from South Carolina, the College of Charleston and Division II Wingate University. He has made unofficial visits to the latter two programs in the past year.
This past season at Camden Military Academy, Blair averaged 24 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals per game. He has yet to take the SAT or ACT exam, but said he will sign up for the SAT in November.
Blair plans on attending the Prep Stars Camp and AAU Nationals this summer, so we'll keep you posted on his exploits in the weeks to come.
