Blair makes the call

DeJuan Blair has made a final decision about his future. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound center from Schenley High School in Pittsburgh, Pa.,gave a verbal commitment to Pittsburgh earlier today. Blair couldn't be any happier with his decision.
Blair, the No. 127 ranked player in the class of 2007, decided to put an end to his recruitment earlier today.

"Yes, I committed to Pittsburgh," said Blair. "I really wanted to be able to play in front of my friends and family, so I committed to Pittsburgh earlier today. It really came down to being able to play in front of friends and family. Being close to home was also important.
"The coaching staff at Pittsburgh was outrageous," he added. "They were very excited about out my decision. I am happy with my decision and can't wait for next year."
Blair, the No. 12 ranked center in the class, indicated that he is looking forward to taking a visit to Pittsburgh in the very near future. Actually, the visit will likely take place next week.
"I am done taking visits," he said. "Well, I am probably going to visit Pittsburgh next week, but that's the only visit that I am going to take."
Prior to making a decision about his future, Blair had received scholarship offers from high-major programs like Cincinnati, Florida, Indiana, Kansas State, Marquette, Miami-FL, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's, Tennessee, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Xavier and others.
DeJuan Blair Bio Notes: Led team to City League championship as a sophomore. As a junior he was named first team AAAA all-state. He was also the City League Player of the Year and a member of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Fabulous 5 in Western Pa. In his junior season Schenley went 30-2 and made it to the state finals.
