Big week puts MSU in team rankings

A strong recruiting week by Mississippi State places the SEC in a tie with the Big East for the most teams in the 2011 national team recruiting rankings to 20. The SEC now has four teams in the rankings after Mississippi State landed five-star wing Rodney Hood and four-star wing D.J. Gardner, placing the Bulldogs in the No. 12 slot.

Illinois moved up to No. 9 after adding four-star power forward Mike Shaw.
Alabama also moved up a several spots when four-star low post player Nick Jacobs picked the Tide over the Clemson Tigers.
Moving the other direction down to No. 18 is Texas after the decommitment of five-star point guard Myck Kabongo.
The ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 have three teams each in the national rankings.
The Pac-10 now has two teams after Mississippi State knocked Washington out of the top 20.
Xavier is the sole representative of the Atlantic-10.
