Big Ten coaches checking on Green

There is nothing going on with Kentucky and 2008 prospect Draymond Green since the departure of Tubby Smith to Minnesota, but Minnesota and a couple other Big Ten schools will be at Saginaw (Mich.) High School this week to recruit the 6-foot-7, 225-pound power forward.
"We haven't heard anything from Kentucky, so we are assuming that everything has opened back up," said Saginaw head coach Lou Dawkins. "Minnesota will probably be here today, and Michigan and Indiana are supposed to come tomorrow."

Coach Dawkins also said that as of now, Minnesota, Indiana, Xavier and Dayton have offered Green. Michigan State is also recruiting Green, but has not yet offered.
With his team coming off a state championship season, Coach Dawkins gave a lot of credit to Green for making it happen.
"Draymond is a terrific all around player," said Coach Dawkins. "He can play all five positions although his handle does need to improve. But he is a beautiful low post and high post passer. He can also shoot the three, but his play in the low post is what makes him special. Most importantly, he really improved as a floor leader this season and led us to the championship."
Green is running with The Family on the travel team circuit.
