Big numbers for 2006 Marshall

2006 prospect Tyrone Marshall has put up some gaudy numbers this year for University Christian Prep in Shreveport, La. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward scored 50 points in one game and also recorded the only triple-double in the history of his high school. Marshall has the interest of a couple mid-majors, and his high school coach feels like it is only a matter of time before Marshall gains some high-major interest.
"Louisiana Tech sends Tyrone a bunch of mail to his house, and Stephen F. Austin is interested as well," said University Christian Prep head coach Zach Slayton. "Tyrone is just under the radar right now. Once the word gets out on him, things should heat up.

Averaging 20 points and 14 rebounds per game, the athletic Marshall recorded 50 points and 21 rebounds in one contest this year. He also recorded 19 points, 15 rebounds and 14 blocked shots in a win over Karnack (Texas) High School, who was ranked No. 4 in Texas Class A.
"Tyrone is a flashy player who wants to throw it down every time he gets the ball," said Slayton. "In fact, he broke a goal in practice dunking. He also shoots the ball well, and if I left him in the game longer, he would easily average over 30 points per game."
Marshall has a 2.6 GPA and is a hard worker in the classroom according to Coach Slayton.
