Big Man Sidelined With Injury

Grant Billmeier, a 6-10, 230 pound power forward/center from St. Patrick H.S. in Elizabeth, N.J., walked around the Virginia campus with a broken hand. "I broke it playing pickup ball," Billmeier said. "It started to swell during the week so I went to the doctor. I am going to be out six to eight weeks."
Billmeier recently received a scholarship offer from the Pirates of Seton Hall recently.

Although he is a bit mechanical and lacks fluidity, Billmeier is a good rebounder and solid passer for a big man. He is still working on his offensive skills, and how much he develops those in the coming months could dictate exactly where Billmeier winds up on the high Division I spectrum. But the injury is a setback for Billmeier to showcase his skills.
"I am interested in Pittsburgh and Seton Hall," Billmeier said. "But I am interested in other schools too."
Rutgers, Virginia, Villanova, Notre Dame, Purdue and Wake Forest have expressed interest too in Billmeier. "I'm open," Billmeier said. "I just have to make sure my hand heals and then I can get back to playing."
