Asrangue Souleyman, a 6-9, 200 pound power forward from the Central African Republic, has enrolled this fall at the Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina.
Rivalshoops.com spoke with Laurinburg Head Coach Chris Chaney late last week, and he informed us about Souleyman's transfer into his prep school earlier this month.

Chaney said the Louisiana State is strongly involved with Souleyman, which comes as little surprise, since the Tigers already have a commitment from 6-6 jumping jack Regis Koundjia. Koundjia is entering his second year at Laurinburg this fall, and starred this past summer with Curtis Malone's D.C. Assault program.
"He and Regis are both from Central Africa, so they've known each other for a while and are best friends," Chaney explained. "He's very, very talented, and we just have to see if he can get it done [academically] in one year."
"He's very, very smart, he was number one in his class over there," Chaney continued. "But when you come over for just one year, it's not easy."
Many African countries speak French or in specific tribal dialects as their primary language, and Chaney said that French is the language that Souleyman is most familiar with at this juncture.
Rivalshoops.com plans on catching Laurinburg in action later this fall, so we will keep you abreast of Souleyman's progress both on and off the court.
