Big Man Chooses Pitt

Walter Waters, a very talented 6-9, 265-pound center from Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan, made an early commitment yesterday to Pittsburgh. Waters has the tools to be a big time player on the college level.
The one drawback is waiting out his academic situation. Waters has some work to do in the classroom before he is academically qualified and eligible to play for the Panthers in the Big East Conference.

According to the well-respected website in the Midwest, Prepspotlight.com, Waters averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds last year as a junior.
There were many other schools interested in Waters but some involved didn't offer for fear he might not make the grades and be eligible. But if Waters qualifies, this is a huge get for Ben Howland and his basketball program.
