Big Man Awaits Word

One of the better big men RivalsHoops.com saw at the end of this past season was Larry Turner, a 6-10, 225-pound center/power forward from Bridgton Academy in Maine. Turner last month had landed the qualifying score and is now awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse.
There has been no official word on whether Turner has signed with Georgia. But several sources tell us that it's just a matter of getting word from the Clearinghouse before an announcement is made.

Bridgton Academy coach Whit Lesure told us in our previous interview that Turner was going to go to Georgia after he qualified on the test.
When Turner landed at Bridgton Academy in Maine, he was there to meet NCAA academic requirements. Lesure did a tremendous job with Turner in polishing his game and helping Larry work hard in the classroom.
Remember, the Georgia native had committed to the University of Georgia via a letter of intent last year. Two years ago, Turner played at Baldwin H.S. in Milledgeville, Georgia.
But Turner was ruled not eligible to play this past season at Georgia. So Larry went to play for Whit Lesure's Bridgton Academy program. He reached his peak of play at the end of the year. Turner appeared comfortable with his new surroundings and certainly is a player who can gobble up rebounds and play tough inside.
Turner previously showed interest when he was in high school in Clemson, NC State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Villanova, and Alabama.
We will keep you informed when the official word comes.
