Best Player At ABCD Dwight Howard

Though he stands 6-foot-11 and 230-pounds and is probably one of the best high school players around, Dwight Howard clearly walks with his feet cemented to the surface of the earth. Howard dominated the competition yesterday at the ABCD camp in Teaneck, New Jersey, opening eyes not only of the many college coaches on hand, but the several NBA scouts watching.
In fact, one NBA scout walked over to a college coach watching Howard and stated: "Don't bother recruiting Howard."

After his games yesterday, Howard spoke in detail about the thoughts. "I am focusing first on college," Howard said.
When asked what colleges he is interested in, Howard responded: "I have many. I don't have a definite list now but I am open."
Howard then went on to say he was more interested in giving a commitment in the spring. "I think that's when I might do it," he said. "I am not sure whether I will make a college decision first or one about the NBA."
Ah, the NBA. Yes, Howard has said he is focusing first on college. But when asked if he had an idea he would be selected in the lottery, would he jump? "Yes," Howard said.
But it's a long way from the June 2004 draft. For one day, Dwight Howard proved to many in the stands he might be the best player in the country and could be a top ten pick in the June 2004 NBA draft. It's a long summer too.
As Howard finished up his interview, an NBA scout wearing his team's name and colors walked past the talented big man. The scout looked up and made contact. He smiled. So did Howard.
