Bennett to visit Kansas State

As expected Kansas State is in the hunt for five-star center Jason Bennett with the hiring of Coach Bob Huggins. Bennett, 7-foot-2, 240-pounds from Arlington Country Day in Jacksonville, Fla., has repeatedly stated that he would like to play for Coach Huggins, and now Bennett must decide if he wants to play for Coach Huggins at Kansas State.
"Jason has committed to take a visit to Kansas State," said Arlington Country Day head coach Rex Morgan. "Now he doesn't have to guess where Coach Huggins might land a job. He knows where Coach Huggins will be, so now he has to decide whether he want to go to school closer to home or go to Kansas State to school.

"It is one thing not to know where a coach might end up or if he will even get a job and another to know exactly where he will be. Now Jason can get a much better feel for the situation."
Although a specific date for the Kansas State visit has not been set, Coach Morgan said Bennett is fully committed to taking the visit before making a decision.
Before the hiring of Coach Huggins, Bennett was down to Auburn, Michigan and Alabama. Last week Bennett officially visited Auburn, but he has yet to visit Michigan or Alabama.
"His visit to Auburn went well," said Morgan. "Jason didn't feel well. He had strep throat. But his parents had a good time, and Jason enjoyed the visit.
"Whether or not he will visit Michigan or Alabama has not been clarified yet."
Jason Bennett scouting report:
With his defense certainly ahead of his offense, Bennett does run the floor well and is active on the offensive boards. His back to the basket game is still a work in progress. His ability to hold onto rebounds and tough passes is the area of his game that has the biggest room for improvement along with his free throw shooting. His strongest attribute is his shot blocking ability.
