Bennett ready to take another visit

After taking official visits to Oklahoma, Texas and Miami-FL, Martellus Bennett, the 6-foot-7, 237-pound combo forward/tight end from Taylor High School in Alief, Texas., is set to visit another Big 12 program later on in the week. Bennett had originally given a verbal commitment to the Miami Hurricanes, but decided to re-open his recruitment several months later. Bennett intends to play both basketball and football in college.
"I have not given a commitment to anybody," Bennett said. "I am still considering all of my options at this time. I was supposed to attend the game between Texas and Oklahoma State on Monday, but I decided not to go to the game. I have a basketball game of my own on Tuesday evening, so that is really what I'm focused on right now."

There was a time when Bennett, the nation's No. 1 tight end prospect, had a pretty good feel for the future. He had originally given a verbal commitment to the Miami Hurricanes, but decided to re-open has recruitment several months later.
It was believed that Bennett would give a commitment to Texas or Texas A&M during the weeklong U.S. Army All-American Bowl festivities. However, Bennett has decided to take one more visit before making a final decision about his future.
"The plan is to take an official visit to Kansas on Wednesday," Bennett said. "I have a game on Tuesday night, so I will make my final decision during the day, but as of right now I plan to take the visit. I will attend the basketball game and get a better look at the campus.
"If you give me a call back late on Tuesday, I will give you more information about what I have planned during my visit," he added. "Unless something comes up at the last minute, the visit to Kansas will take place."
