Bennett Lands Another Recruit

Dick Bennett continues to harvest seeds for the rebuilding process at Washington State. Today, the Cougars landed a verbal commitment from Chris Henry, a developing 6-foot-9, 240-pound center/power forward from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. He is Bennett's fourth commitment from the
Class of 2004.

"Chris has committed to Washington State," said Mater Dei head coach Gary McKnight. "He really felt comfortable with the style they play at WSU. With him at 6-9, 240, Coach (Dick) Bennett runs a style that fits him pretty well."
Henry chose Washington State over Northwestern, a school that finished a very
close second. Henry returned from an official visit to the Evanston campus this past weekend (he visited Washington State the weekend of September 3). "He almost went to Northwestern," said McKnight. "But the style at WSU fits him better."
Henry is a developing, but skilled big man who has worked hard to lose weight and become a better athlete. He will join classmates point guard Derrick Low and forwards Daven Harmeling and Robbie Cowgill in Pullman next fall.
