Benjamin Nearing A Decision

Shooting guard Keith Benjamin from Mount Vernon High School (New York) had a tremendous visit at Pittsburgh this past weekend.
“The visit went great,” Benjamin said. “It is a great school with one of the best basketball programs in the Big East. Coach Dixon is in his first year and is going to have some ups and downs, but with some help from the players he should have a great year. The assistant coaches are cool too.”

The 6-foot-2, 183-pound shooting guard is only considering Georgia Tech and Providence along with Pittsburgh. He has not scheduled official visits with either of those schools, however.
“I sent my transcript to Georgia Tech today, so we will see there,” he said. “And I think Providence will be coming to open gym tomorrow.”
It is safe to say that Pittsburgh is the clear leader in landing Benjamin. In fact, after talking about Georgia Tech and Providence, Benjamin made this interesting comment:
“It still doesn’t mean I won’t pull the trigger. I could commit to Pittsburgh as quick as tonight.”
Benjamin previously had committed to Villanova.
“Snowden blew his ACL, and they weren’t sure what he was going to do,” he explained. “So I couldn’t wait around. I had to see if something else better was out there.”
