Ben Sullivan Can Shoot The Basketball

Some big guys like to dunk the ball. Others like to rebound it and block shots.
For the Portland (Ore.) Inner City Players this summer, 6-9 Ben Sullivan showed off his specialty: shooting the basketball.

Yes, he might stand 6-9 and weigh in at a solid 215 pounds, but Sullivan, who attends Lake Oswego H.S. in Lake Oswego, Ore., has excellent range on his jumper out to the three point arc and way beyond.
At the adidas Big Time Tournament last month, one of his shots hoisted from Reno (or so it appeared) swished in, showing that you have to guard him out on the perimeter.
We had a chance to catch up with Sullivan at the Big Time Tournament, and he told the Insiders Report that he had been offered scholarships thus far by Air Force, Loyola Marymount, Portland, St. Mary's and Cal Tech.
In addition to those programs, Boise State, Pacific, Santa Clara, Columbia, Harvard and Yale have also shown interest in Sullivan this summer.
As a junior at Lake Oswego, Sullivan averaged 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks per game.
He said he carries a 3.6 GPA and has scored an 1150 on the SAT -- a good reason that a number of academic heavyweights like him.
Sullivan enjoyed a busy summer, first attending a session of the Double Pump All-Star camp, before hitting the road with the Inner City Players. ICP attended the finalscore.com Tournament, the adidas Big Time Tournament and the Double Pump Best of the Summer Tournament.
