Bell makes the call

It has been no secret this summer that Villanova had a strong lead in the recruitment of 2010 prospect James Bell. On Thursday the four-star wing player made it official for the Wildcats.
"I figured I needed to get focused on school and get ready for my SAT," said Bell, who will transfer to Montverde (Fla.) Academy this year. "What college I'm going to is the last thing I need to be worried about. I got the okay from my mother and the people around me, so I made the decision."

Bell, who is a top notch athlete at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, also considered Kentucky, West Virginia, Clemson (offer), Miami (offer) and Penn State.
Originally from New Jersey, Bell has numerous family members living in the Villanova area. The overall sense of family around the program was a major draw for Bell.
"They have a 100 percent graduation rate for athletes," said Bell about Villanova. "I love the family atmosphere that the coaches create within the program. It is a place where you can build a lifetime relationship and always have a place to go back to."
Bell, the No. 73 ranked prospect in the class of 2010, is the first Villanova commitment in the class of 2010.
